Family holidays in Saint Georges De Didonne 1

What to do in Vaux-sur-Mer

A seaside resort with village charm, it offers both locals and holidaymakers the chance to take a stroll along its coastal path or through its town centre.

Saint-Étienne Church

The first path leads to the church of Saint-Étienne, of which only the chevet arch with its modillions and sculpted capitals remains. The remains of a Benedictine abbey founded in 1075 and listed as a Historic Monument since 1913, it is surrounded by an ancient cemetery with preserved cenotaphs.

The Douaniers Trail

The Sentier des Douaniers runs alongside the four conches of Vaux-sur-Mer. Hidden by the Bois des Fées and its twisting holm oaks, halfway along it reveals the Conche du Conseil, peaceful despite its urban setting. Leaving the wood, you reach the twin conches of Saint-Sordelin and Gilet.
