Saint Georges de Didonne

Camping Le Dauphin is ideally located in Saint Georges de Didonne, a charming seaside resort on the Atlantic Coast called Côte de Beauté.

Even if it is a lively animated spot in summer, it is still a familiar and human-sized town.
Moreover, Saint Georges de Didonne was classified among French Seaside Resorts and recently certified for the label Family Plus, and it offers a varied range of activities for all tastes.

The Beach

Saint Georges de Didonne's beach is easily accessible on foot in 5 minutes from the Campsite (400 m) : it is a 2 km long sandy beach, surrounded by cliffs, and lined with pine trees and sand dunes. It is supervised in the summer season and safe : it is an ideal spot for families with children (as the Pointe du Verdon protects it from the Atlantic rip currents), but also for water sports lovers who will be able to try several activities at the the Sailing and Watersports Center. Among the sports you can enjoy: catamaran, sea kayak, windsurfing, stand-up paddle, jet-ski, Flyboard®, but also the sand-yachting and kite-board, the Ultimate, the electric skateboard, etc ...

Activities & Discovery near the Campsite

The town center of Saint Georges de Ddionne is located about 2 km away from the campsite, and it is easily accessible by walking along the lovely beach's promenade. Visit the Lighthouse of Vallières, and enjoy an unforgettable panoramic view on the coast of the Pays Royannais, and then stop at the early-Gothic church, a legacy of the Middle Ages. Nearby, you can visit the covered market in order to discover the typical products of the region (oysters and seafood, Pineau des Charentes, the galette charentaise...).

Just a few steps away from the campsite you can enjoy other nature activities: walking or cycling to the Pointe de Suzac (with its cliffs and old blockhouses) or along the Sentier des Douaniers (the old « Path of Customs Officers"), the Parc de l'Estuaire (an Eco-museum and unspoilt protected environment with a remarkable flora and an amazing unrestricted view from the top of its watchtower), horseback riding with the Equestrian Center of the Estuary, the Adventure park in the wood (tree tops ropes courses and zip-lines), a miniature golf ...

For cycling lovers, the campsite is located near the Vélodyssée® passage (the most important cycle route along the entire Atlantic coast) and on the passage of the Canal des 2 mers à vélo® (connecting the Mediterranean Sea to the Atlantic Ocean): several marked routes and trails for all levels are thus available around the campsite.
